HazTek is spotlighting Safety Professional Marisa Roddick who joined our team this year. Marisa started her construction career at age 12 by helping her dad work on residential homes. Years later, she joined the laborer’s union, specializing in tunnel work and moved into safety in 2014. One memory she recounts from her safety career is working at the SeaTac airport while building the international arrivals facility (IAF), a 450,000sq ft addition to the airport. On that project, they lifted a 1,560-ton glass bridge 85 ft above the taxiway.
Marisa has an adult son who is in the Elevator union apprenticeship. She also has two rescue pups, Freckles and Buster. Freckles is a 90-pound American bulldog and Buster is a 12 pound Shih Tzu. In March of this year, Marisa bought a home in Wenatchee, WA with a huge backyard for her dogs to play. We’re very excited to have you on the team, Marisa!
